It’s no secret. I have a small Starbuck’s addiction, especially since it's my office away from home.
From the pumpkin spice and gingerbread lattes in the fall to the delicious cold brew and iced green tea in the summer — I’m a fan of it all. And while their drinks and goodies are delectable, this habit can really put a dent in your weekly budget.
But, there's good news!

Not only do I use these apps and sites, but I tend to get the majority of my Starbucks coffee for free, all year round!

This is one of my faves … Swagbucks is an online platform where you can earn points called SB, which can be redeemed for gift cards, coupons, and sweepstake entries. But they also have a smartphone app for iPhone and Android operating systems. You can quickly earn Swagbucks by watching videos, answering questions, completing offers, and even surfing the web using their toolbar. Refer your friends and you’ll make even more SB. Your SB points can be traded in for gift cards from Amazon, Target, PayPal, and yes, Starbucks! It currently takes 1,000 Swagbucks to earn a $10 Starbucks gift card. Plus, you get a $5 bonus for signing up!
2. Ibotta
Ibotta is an iPhone and Android application that you can use to earn money when you go shopping. Before you head out on a shopping trip complete tasks relating to your favorite brands and companies. Next, go shopping at stores like Target and Walgreens and take photos of your receipts. Once your transaction has been verified, your account will be credited with a specified cash back amount. Refer your friends and earn even more.
Payments are made via PayPal, Venmo, or you can purchase Starbucks gift cards, which is what I do. You must have a $20 balance to purchase a Starbucks gift card, and new users are eligible for $10 sign-up bonus!
3. Drop
I love this app — because it is totally passive earning! With Drop, you earn points for shopping at individual stores. All you have to do is connect your credit card to their secure (256-bit encryption) smartphone application, and each time you purchase at a participating retailer, you'll earn points.
One thousand points equals $1, and when you earn enough points, they can be traded in for gift cards from stores like Starbucks, iTunes, Amazon and many more. You can also invite friends to join with your own personalized referral code. For each friend who signs up with your referral code — you'll earn 1,000 points. Drop is available in the US and Canada and for both Andriod and iPhone users.
4. My Survey
My Survey is an is an online opinion poll, where individuals are compensated by earning reward points and sweepstake entries. On most surveys, you’ll earn a sweepstake entry or around 200 points. You also earn 150 points for each friend that you refer and who completes the lifestyle survey. Points can be redeemed for PayPal, Amazon, and Starbucks gift cards. It currently takes 1,100 points to purchase a $10 Starbucks gift card.
5. Toluna
Toluna is a survey and product testing site where you can earn points for participation. Most surveys and questionnaires take 15 – 20 minutes and members earn anywhere from 15 – 20,000 points depending on the length. Points can be redeemed for sweepstake tickets or gift cards for stores like Amazon and Starbucks! It currently takes 30,000 points to earn a $10 Starbucks gift card.
6. Shopkick
I'm totally addicted to this app! Shopkick is a cool rewards program that is available for iPhone and Android phones. Just download the app to your phone, and when you walk into your favorite stores (Old Navy, Crate & Barrel, Exxon, Target, Macy’s, etc.), you’ll instantly earn kicks. Scan specified barcodes on products once you're in the store to earn more kicks. Link up your credit card, browse through lookbooks or refer your friends for even more kicks. Kicks can be used for gift cards from Target, Old Navy, and Starbucks! It currently takes 1,250 kicks to get a $5 Starbucks gift card.
7. Starbucks App
The Starbucks app allows you to pay for drinks and earn free coffee. Just download the app, add your gift cards to the app, then manage and pay for drinks using the app. Every time you make a purchase, you’ll earn stars towards a free drink. You also get a free beverage on your birthday. Currently, it takes 125 stars to earn a free drink, and you earn two stars for every $1.00 spent with your registered Starbucks cards and app.
8. Bing Rewards
Earn credits by using the Bing search engine on your PC and smartphone. Earn one credit for every 2 Bing searches up to 30 credits a day. You can also earn credits by referring friends and viewing offers. Credits can be traded in for Amazon, Groupon, Red Envelope, Sephora, and Starbucks gift cards. Currently, it takes 475 credits to earn a $5 Starbucks gift card
